Reflection The Challenges of Women Migrant Workers and Develop Intervention Plan for Women Migrant Workers

Participants who are women migrant workers shared their challenges and experiences of their undocumented migration from travelling cross-border till work in Thailand in the provincial workshop on “Reflection the challenges of women migrant workers and develop intervention plan for women migrant workers” which took place on March 21, 2024, at the Cambodian Red Cross branch in Prey Veng province. Provincial Department of Labor and Vocational Training
in Prey Veng province presented a complaint mechanism and the Provincial Department of Women’s Affairs presented a mechanism for assisting victims of gender-based violence and human trafficking. The two departments provided participants with telephone numbers for further communication. The provincial workshop was attended by a total of 19 participants (13 women, 6 men), composed of representatives of women migrant workers, officials of the Provincial Department of Labor and Vocational Training, officials of the Department of Women’s Affairs in Prey Veng province, a head of Women & Children’s Consultative Committee, a head of Cambodian Red Cross branch in Prey Veng province, a representative of international labor organization
(ILO) and a representative of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
