Project Launching on Preventing Violence Against Women and Girls with Disability

Tuesday Morning 10 October 2023: Gender and Development for Cambodia kicked off Project Launching on Preventing Violence Against Women and Girls with Disability at Rolea Bier District Hall, Kampong Chhnang Province. A total of 50 people attended the launching at Rolea Bi’er District Hall, where staff from World Vision International Cambodia, officials from Kampong Chhnang Provincial Departments of Women’s Affairs, Department of Social Affairs Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, District Office of Social Affairs, Welfare and Women’s Affairs, Commune Administration, Village chief,​ People with disability and Youth attended the launching.
The objective of the project launching is to disseminate the prevention of violence against women and girls with disabilities project to local authorities, relevant institutions, youth, communities, women, and girls with disabilities in two target communes of Chrey Bak and Rolea Bier in Kampong Chhnang province.
During the event, Mr. Mey Sophally, Deputy Governor of Rolea Bier District, encouraged the Commune Chief, Village Chief, and relevant officials to​ support and cooperate with GADC during the two-year project implementation.
Prevention of Violence Against Women and Girls with Disabilities Project is funded by EmbraceAbility, UK, and implemented by #GADC from 2023 to 2025.
